Access is a row on the plant
Every route into a plant is a row on that plant's Access tab, with a date on it, that somebody can remove. Either it is in your own name, or it belongs to an organisation you are a member of.
If plants are missing, work through Why you can or cannot see a plant, then ask whoever manages the plant to add you. If you look after sites as a business, that access is better held by your organisation than by you: see What organisations are for.
Owner is now Full control
The third access level was renamed. It allows exactly what it did before: configure the plant, and add or remove other people.
Owner was doing two jobs. The tab could show somebody as Owner in the list while saying the plant had no registered owner, and both were correct. The word now belongs to one of them: the registered owner, shown as a gold badge against a name and on the ownership line at the top of the tab. See Who a plant belongs to.
Older plants often carry Full control with no registered owner recorded anywhere. That is ordinary for a plant set up before ownership was recorded separately, and access on it works normally.
Device settings follow your access level
A qualification from SolarMD, such as manufacturer settings on a battery, now works only where you can also configure the plant: Editor, Installer or Full control. Where you cannot, the device is read-only and the device page says View-only on this site., naming the organisation whose administrator can lift you.
The reverse still holds: Full control does not carry qualifications. A device change needs both.
Old logger shares became a level of their own
Plants set up under the previous sharing system carry a Legacy logger share on the rows of the people who held them. Until September 2026 such a share let its holder change settings even when the row said Viewer, and the device page did not say so.
Nobody lost anything: every one of those rows now reads Editor, which is Installer without the logger replacement, or Full control where the person was the only one on the plant. Viewer is now view-only everywhere, including people you approved from an access request. Setting somebody to Viewer, or removing them, removes their old share as well. Editor is not offered when you add someone; pick any other level and it goes away.
