Access comes from a grant
A grant names one holder, one access level and one plant. If a grant covers you, the plant opens for you. If none does, it does not. The kind of account you hold changes nothing.
The holder is a person or an organisation, whose grant covers every member including later joiners. The level is Viewer, Installer or Full control. A level on one plant says nothing about the plant next to it.
Access adds up, it never takes away
One person can be covered by several grants at once, usually one in their own name and one through an organisation. All are real and the strongest wins. Nothing reduces or blocks access, so removing somebody means removing every row that covers them.
What access does not decide
Who the plant belongs to is the registered owner, recorded separately, at most one per plant: see Who a plant belongs to. When access ends is nobody: grants never expire, and one lasts until somebody removes it or the organisation holding it is switched off. Access enrols the holder in this plant's notifications from the moment it is given. They arrive on the in-app bell; email and push are opt-in, so each person switches those on for themselves. See Choose what you are notified about.
