Access levels field definitions

Description

This article explains each value on the Access tab of a plant. For the concepts, see How access works on myPower24. For the procedures, see Manage who can access your plant.

Each level has all the permissions of the level above it in the table. A person with two or more rows on a plant gets the highest level.

Editor	Changes to plant details and settings
Installer	The same as Editor
Full control	Control of who has access

Viewer: cannot change anything on the plant.
Editor: shows only on rows that the system changed from a legacy logger share. You cannot select it when you add a person. The system removes it when you set the person to a different level.
Logger replacement: only SolarMD staff can replace a logger, whatever level a person has.
Full control: the new name for the level that had the name Owner before. See What changed about access.

The help text shows as a tooltip on the level dropdown, and below the level in the detail pane.

Viewer: Sees readings and history. Changes nothing.
Editor: Sees and configures the system. Cannot add or remove people. Converted from an old logger share; pick another level to retire it.
Installer: Sees and configures the system.
Full control: Configures, and adds or removes people.

Owner: a gold badge after the name of the registered owner. It is not an access level. A plant has a maximum of one Owner badge.

A plant can have Full control rows and no Owner badge. See Who a plant belongs to.

Name: the name of the person or the organisation.
organisation: a tag after the name that marks an organisation row. Organisation admins get the level of the row, and other members get a minimum of Viewer.
you: a tag after the name that marks your own account.
Added directly: the source line for access that someone gave on this tab.
Legacy logger share: the source line for access that the system changed from the legacy logger share system. The level is Editor, or Full control if the person was the only one on the plant.
Organisation: the source line of an organisation row. It shows the member count, for example Organisation, 12 members, administrators get this level.
Device capability only, no access level: the source line for a row that has a device capability but no access level.
Capability only: a tag that shows in place of the level when a row has no level.
Level: the dropdown at the right of the row.
Since: the date the access started. Access has no end date.

If you set a Legacy logger share row to Viewer, or remove it, the system also deletes the legacy logger share.

Everyone, Full control, Installer, Viewer: always shown, each with a count.
Editor, Capabilities, Legacy: shown only when one or more rows match, each with a count.

The detail pane opens when you click a row.

Level: the level and its help text, or None - device capability only.
From: the source line of the row.
Since: the date the access started.
Capabilities: the device capabilities the row has on this plant, each with an icon to remove it.
Add capability: a button that shows only when there is a capability left to give.
Changes: up to six of the most recent access changes for the row on this plant.
Remove: a button that removes the level and all device capabilities of the row on this plant.
Remove, disabled: the row is the last one with Full control. The tooltip says: You cannot remove the last person with full control. Register an owner first, or hand the plant over.

Capability from this tab: gives one device control on this plant only, at all access levels.
Qualification from SolarMD: gives device controls on all plants, but works only where the person has Editor, Installer or Full control.

If the person has only Viewer, the system refuses device changes. The device page then shows View-only on this site.

A Viewer row is view-only. This is also true when its source line shows Legacy logger share.
Examine the Full control rows first. A person with Full control can give access to other people without your approval.
