What your organisation can give its team

What your organisation can give its team

Where to find it

Main menu, Organisations, then Admin on your organisation, then the Delegation tab. Only organisation admins can open the admin page, so members never see it.

The starting point

Every active member gets Viewer on every plant the organisation holds. Members do not inherit its own level: if the organisation is installer on a plant, members still start at viewer there. Organisation admins are the exception, holding everything the organisation holds at full strength, and they alone can hand anything out.

The two things you can give

A stronger level on one plant, capped by the organisation's own level there. A company holding installer on a plant cannot make anyone owner on it.

A device capability, reaching every plant the organisation holds, capped by what SolarMD has put in the organisation's list. A company cannot award itself new ones. Platform-wide, SolarMD-level access is in neither list and can never pass through a company.

Handing it out

Pick the person in the Member dropdown. The table lists every plant the organisation reaches.

  • Plant: the plant's name.
  • Organisation holds: its own level there, and the most you can give.
  • This member: what they can do there now.
  • Source: Floor (membership alone), Delegated (given here) or Personal (theirs, marked (not ours to revoke)).

Click a level in the Give column; only levels the organisation can give appear. Below, Device capabilities lists each capability SolarMD granted the organisation, with Held and a Give or Revoke button. If one you need is missing, ask SolarMD.

Changes take effect within about 30 seconds; an open device page may need a refresh.

A device capability works on every plant the organisation holds, including ones where the member is still at the viewer floor. It is not held back until they also hold installer or owner there.

Taking it back

Click Revoke and confirm (Revoke delegation). The person keeps viewer while they remain a member. Rows marked (not ours to revoke) are personal grants, removed on the plant's own Access tab instead.

It also ends on its own when the person leaves, when the organisation loses that plant, when SolarMD withdraws that capability, or while the organisation is deactivated. Nothing expires by itself.

Off-boarding is one action: taking a leaver out of the organisation is what removes their access. Anything granted to them personally survives and must be revoked on each plant.
