What your organisation can give its team

Scope

The Delegation tab is where an organisation admin gives one member more access than membership alone gives. For organisations, see What organisations are for. For the levels, see Access levels field definitions.

Location

• Path: Organisations in the menu, then Admin on your organisation, then the Delegation tab. See My Organisations.

Permissions

• Organisation admin: uses the Delegation tab, and has the level of the organisation on its plants
• Member: gets Viewer on the plants of the organisation, until an admin gives more

Limits

• Plant level: a maximum of the level of the organisation on that plant
• Device capability: only a capability that SolarMD gave the organisation: basic or advanced. It cannot be manufacturer level.

Step 1: Member Selection

1. In Member, select the person.

• Organisation holds: the limit for what you give
• This member: the level that the person has at this time
• Source: Floor (membership), Delegated (this tab), Org admin (admin of the organisation, with its level) or Personal, with (not ours to revoke)

Step 2: Plant Level

1. On the plant row, in the Give column, click the level.

The Give column shows only levels that the organisation holds. A row with source Org admin has no Give buttons. The person gets a notification about the change.

Step 3: Device Capability

1. In Device capabilities, on the row, click Give.

The capability applies on each plant of the organisation. This is also true where the person has only Viewer.

Step 4: Revoke

1. On the row, click Revoke.
2. On a plant row, click Yes.

The person keeps Viewer as a member. Each change has an effect in 30 seconds or less. Tell the person to refresh all device pages that are open.

Access End

• Person leaves the organisation: all access from this tab ends
• Organisation loses the plant: the plant level on that plant ends
• Organisation level on the plant decreases: the plant level from this tab also decreases. If the organisation level increases again, the plant level changes to its previous value again.
• SolarMD removes a capability from the organisation: that capability ends for all members
• Organisation made inactive: no member has access through it

Troubleshooting

• A row has no Revoke button: the source is Personal, Floor or Org admin. Remove personal access on the Access tab of the plant. Remove the admin role on the Members tab.
• There are no capabilities to give: SolarMD has not granted this organisation any device capabilities yet. Contact SolarMD support.
• Could not delegate: the member, the plant or the organisation changed after the page opened. Reload the page.
