What this guide covers

Turning a notification on or off, tuning one plant differently, and undoing a change. The page itself is toured in Notification Settings; every value is defined in Notification categories and settings field definitions.

Any plant you can see notifies you automatically. Everything here is an exception at the scope you choose: Account defaults, or an override on one plant.

Where to find it

Menu under your username at the top right, then Notification settings. Or, if you may configure the plant, its Plant settings page, Notifications tab.

Step 1: Change your defaults

Stay on Account defaults, the scope the page opens on. Find the category row and the channel column (Email, In-app bell, Push) and click the value. It flips between On and Off, you see Notification setting updated., and the label underneath becomes set here with a small x beside it. These apply to every plant you can see, unless a plant overrides them.

Step 2: Tune one plant differently

Switch scope to the plant, from the scope picker, the N with their own settings dropdown, or the search icon for a plant not listed. Then click values as before. That is how you mute one noisy plant, or switch Email on for Device warning at a critical site only.

Step 3: Undo a change

  • On a plant, click the value back to what it would inherit and the override removes itself. Use my account settings clears the whole plant at once.
  • On Account defaults, click the small x beside a set here value. An account value keeps its row even when it matches the built-in default (it still beats an organisation default underneath), so the x is the only route back to nothing set.

Common errors and fixes

  • Notification setting was not updated. or ... not cleared. means the change did not save. Reload and try again; if it keeps failing, screenshot the message and contact support.
  • A plant is missing from the search. The picker finds only plants you can currently see.

Tips and gotchas

  • Account / access notifications are always on: locked, and marked always on.
  • Email and push are opt-in. Out of the box every alarm category delivers to the in-app bell only.
  • Overrides survive losing sight of a plant: it stays in the picker marked changed, no visibility and resumes if your access returns.
  • There is no bulk on or off.
