Battery Flow Chart

Edit

Battery Flow Chart

What it shows

A pie of your battery energy over the chosen period, split into what was charged into the battery and what was discharged out of it. It gives you a round-trip view of how the battery was used.

Where to find it

Open Dashboard, click the pencil in the dashboard top bar to enter edit mode, click Add New Widget, search the picker for Battery Flow Chart, then click Add Widget.

Reading it

Two slices:

  • Battery Charge - energy stored into the battery.
  • Battery Discharge - energy drawn back out of the battery.

Over a full day the two are usually close, since what goes in comes back out. A big gap can mean the battery was still filling or emptying at the end of the period.

Use the D, M and Y buttons on the tile to switch between day, month and year, and the date picker beside them to choose the period. A period with no readings shows No Data For Selected Date.

Settings

Open the spanner icon on the tile:

  • Data Period - Daily, Monthly or Yearly. Starts on Daily, and matches the D, M and Y buttons.
  • Title - the name shown on the tile. Starts as Battery Flow.

The two slices are fixed and cannot be changed.

Tips

Use this with Grid Flow Chart to see how surplus solar was handled: charged into the battery, or exported to the grid.
